CJU-2053G International Justice Systems

This course provides students with international perspectives on criminal justice. Learners will examine various criminal justice systems in order to identify their historical, cultural, religious, and social origins on the development of specific criminal justice systems. The response to crime and criminal behavior on behalf of police judiciary and correctional officials is analyzed in a variety of different criminal justice systems. Through a comprehensive review of cross-national research data, students examine the features, successes, and failures of various distinct criminal justice systems around the globe and use that information to compare it with the American criminal justice system, in light of a Christian worldview.
