NURS-4343 Healthcare Trends and Issues
The focus of this course is contemporary issues impacting professional nursing practice. Topics include the U.S. healthcare delivery system, the advocacy role of professional nurses, and laws governing the practice of nursing. Socio-political, bio-ethical, and legal issues related to healthcare are also explored. Lifelong learning is discussed, including graduate nursing education, professional portfolios, and nursing certification.
