POL-3083 Political Parties

An evaluation of political parties and interest groups as they interrelate in American politics. Students will examine how political parties and interest groups contribute to what is right and wrong with our political system and government. Students will consider the needs of special interests at the expense of ordinary people, the advantage that is enjoyed by those candidates and causes who benefit from the financial largess of political parties and groups, and the policy gridlock that occurs because of the cacophony of interest group voices impeding the legislative process.
