SOC-4023 Sociology of Early Christianity
An examination of the sociological factors associated with the rapid rise of Christianity as the dominant religion of the Western world. Emphasis is given to the urban environment of early Christian churches, the Roman religious landscape, epidemics and urban chaos, and Christian versus pagan theologies.
