HUM-1013G Discipleship of the Christian Mind with Laboratory
This course helps students identify, form, and practice habits of the Christian mind through the basic analysis of worldview in their own lives and in key texts and through writing. It aims to introduce students to the vision of liberal arts education at MVNU and to the life of the mind as an aspect of Christian discipleship. Specific emphasis is placed on techniques, habits, and skills essential for college success including learning strategies, active reading, test-taking skills, time management, and study habits. Career and academic planning, as well as other college resources, is provided to students. The course also includes designated lab times with a student Academic Peer Mentor. Required for conditionally admitted students.

Acceptance into and successful completion of CSS-1001 as part of the Nease Institute summer bridge program also meets the HUM-1013G requirements for conditionally admitted students.
