SWKR-6163 Foundation Practicum I
As an introductory practicum experience, this course will give students first-hand exposure to the social work field. Students will engage in a supervised practicum experience in an agency that aligns with their career interests and goals. Taken concurrently with
SWKR-6001 (Foundation Seminar I), this course will require students to obtain 200 clock hours of practicum experience over the course of a 15-week semester, for an average of 15 hours per week in field. This experience will require students to apply the knowledge, skills, values, and ethics of generalist social work practice to their practicum settings. This course is broken up into two eight-week sections. Both are required to be completed with a successful passing grade. Prerequisites: Admission to field and completion of 12 credit hours of foundation courses. Co-requisite:
